What is Virtual reality

Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds with the use of special goggles strapped to the face and hand controllers.

It is my first time trying Virtual Reality, what should I know?

Virtual Reality is easy to use, our team will help you set up and get familiar with the VR environment and our large selection of virtual experiences and games. To get started you can check out our Activity Guideline section and have a look at the games menu.

What equipment do you use?

Each VR booth is equipped with HTC Vive virtual reality equipment. Even though there are a few major players on the market rights now, HTC Vive is considered a leader in full immersion VR experiences and it is the main reason why we made this choice.

What is HTC VIVE?

HTC Vive is a specific brand of head-mounted display (HMD), controllers and tracking peripherals which allow the user to see and interact with the virtual environment. Infrared lasers and LEDs are tracked by each component, providing highly accurate tracking capabilities to transfer your movement to your character in the game.

How many people can play at once?

We offer an option of multiplayer games, which you can play from 2 to 9 people at once depending on an activity.

Please refer to the VR activities menu for more information.

Can I wear my prescription glasses

VR headsets allow a user to play with the reading glasses on. However, some of the glasses won’t fit in a headset or you might find it a bit uncomfortable. Thus, we suggest to try it with and without and see which option works best for you BUT for the best experience we recommend to wear contact lens.

Who can and can not play

At Gobo VR Hub we can accommodate most mobility, skill and cognitive levels for a range of guests, our hub and each VR booth is wheelchair accessible. However, please notice that for the optimal VR experience a user requires to move head and neck, and use at least one arm to interact with environments,

We also suggest to consult a doctor before making a reservation, if you have

– pre-existing serious medical conditions (ex. high blood pressure, heart ailment)

– conditions that may affect your ability to safely perform physical activities

– psychiatric conditions ( ex. post – traumatic stress disorder or anxiety disorders) or if you are pregnant or elderly.

You should also avoid visiting Gobo VR Hub if you are fatigued, sick or under the influence of intoxicants/drugs, as it may exacerbate your condition

Can Virtual Reality cause motion sickness

In 99% it is not the case, but if you start feeling uneasy during your session, please take off the VR googles and inform our staff member promptly.

Will I walk into a wall

Highly doubtful, as you will have a very good sense of where you are located in a real space during your experience.

While using the VR, you will have a projected blue hologram of the obstacles (such as walls people, chairs) inside the game. Should you exit the playing zone, the hologram will turn red, which will be an indicator for you to step back.
